Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus Receives $15,000 AARP Community Challenge Flagship Grant for Community Garden Improvements
Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ - July 20, 2026 - The Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $15,000 2026 AARP Community Challenge Flagship Grant to support improvements to the Ho-Ho-Kus Community Garden. The Borough was selected as a grantee in a highly competitive year from among more than 5,100 applications submitted nationwide. The grant will fund a greenhouse, a portable stage and sound equipment for community programs and events, new gardening equipment, and other improvements that will expand the Garden’s outreach and support its mission of growing fresh produce for neighbors in need.
The Ho-Ho-Kus Community Garden is maintained by dedicated volunteers and serves as both a gathering place for the community and a source of fresh produce for local families in need. The Borough is grateful to AARP for its investment in this initiative and extends its appreciation to the Community Garden volunteers, the Ho-Ho-Kus Grant Committee, and Bruno & Associates, Inc. of Clifton, New Jersey, for their efforts in securing competitive grant funding that enhances our community while helping to reduce the burden on local taxpayers.
