ADMINISTRATOR

William Jones

While serving in this post since August of 2015, Bill has focused on expanding our community outreach, increasing the level of customer service and providing a user-friendly “figure out a way to say yes” attitude to the Borough.  Under his leadership, he has worked to improve and modernize the Borough’s various communication and infrastructure systems.  Working with the Mayor and Council, he has concentrated on balancing the quality of services our residents expect while at the same time keeping an eye on the bottom line in an effort to maintain low and stable tax rates.   He has helped to consolidate and eliminate positions while also expanding shared services with neighboring communities where it made sense and resulted in savings.  As a major part of our legal team, Bill helped to negotiate an agreement with the Fair Share Housing Center and two builders to provide for legally mandated affordable housing units without dramatically changing the heart and soul of our single-family home community.

Bill is a life-long County resident and has been a resident of Ramsey for the past 25 years. Bill has spent his entire life in public service. Over the past 40 years, he has given back to the communities where he has resided through coaching sports and serving on numerous boards and commissions.  He is particularly proud of the fact that he has served 24 years in public office in two Bergen County Communities; 9 years in East Rutherford and 15 years in Ramsey.  This is a distinction held by very few people in Bergen County history.

Bill graduated from William Paterson College (now University) with a BA in Political Science.  He joined us here in Ho-Ho-Kus after a very successful 20-year career in the wholesale tire distribution business as well as serving in an administrative capacity for the Borough of East Rutherford.  He brings both his business and political experience to help lead Ho-Ho-Kus.  He is the father of three “20 somethings” and loves working in Ho-Ho-Kus.
