January Program:   Come out on January 29th, 2024 @ 7:30PM and learn the basic watercolor techniques while painting the much loved classic flower:  "THE ROSE".  Supplies will be provided, refreshments will be served.  All are welcome!  Located at the Ho-Ho-Kus Community Church, 400 Warren Ave, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423.  This course will be taught by Nicole Zanetakos a Bergen County Art Teacher with a passion for gardening.  PLEASE RSVP if you plan on

Come join us on October 30, 2024 @ 7:30pm in the Community Church located at 400 Warren Ave for "The Art of Bonsai" program with speaker Sergio Cuano, M5 Bonsai Works and learn the history and fundamentals of Bonsai trees. 

The HHK Garden Club of New Jersey, which is a federation of Garden Clubs of America, generally meets from September through May on the last Monday of the month; with a Holiday Party in December and an End-of-Year Picnic in early June.

Most meetings are held in the Community Church and begin at 7:30 p.m. Meetings consist mostly of knowledgeable Guest Speakers sharing valuable tips and information about anything related to horticulture and gardening. The programs are followed by refreshments and a short business meeting.

Plant Sale

The HHK Garden Club runs an annual Plant Sale every Spring featuring perennials, annuals, hanging baskets and "gently"-used gardening items of interest. This year's Plant Sale will be held on May 11, 2024 from 9am to noon on "The Green" downtown

Scholarships

The HHK Garden Club awards up to three Scholarships each year to qualified, local-area college students who are majoring in horticulture or environmentally-related studies.  

2024 Scholarship-  Applications are now welcomed for scholarships of up to $1000 for rising college sophomore, junior or seniors of Bergen or Passaic counties who are studying or planning to pursue a degree in horticulture, environmental science, ecology, forestry or a related field. There is no age limit and past recipients are welcome to apply, along with employees working in the fields mentioned above. The deadline for applications is May 15, 2024 and can be obtained by contacting Kris Nylund, Scholarship Chair at hhkgardenclub@gmail.com.
