Dane Policastro
Dane is a lifelong resident of Ho-Ho-Kus. Elected in 2019, at age 25, Policastro is the youngest Council Member ever elected in the Borough. He is devoted to Ho-Ho-Kus and believes a strong collaborative relationship with the people he represents is essential. He is committed to the integrity of land-use planning, fiscal accountability, conscientious legislation, and stable taxes. Policastro leverages from his business experience to help drive strategic alternatives in the borough he proudly serves. Licensed in real estate, he is Vice President of a realty investment company and a Founding Partner of Dane Properties, a real estate investment group. Councilman Policastro is a Class III member of the Borough Planning Board, Chairman of the Planning Board Signage Committee, Executive Member of the Shade Tree and Beautification Committee, and Chairman of the 10 Orvil Court Improvements Committee. He serves as the Borough Liaison to the Board of Education and the Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library Board of Trustees. Policastro considers communicating municipal information, news, public safety, and emergency messaging a top priority and is active in the build-out of the Borough website, Nixle and social media platforms. He serves as the Borough’s Deputy Coordinator for the Office of Emergency Management. He is a firefighter with the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department, having served as Lieutenant from 2017-21. He is an appointed member of the Bergen County Public Safety Communications Advisory Board. Policastro holds a BA in Social Science and Public Policy from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
