School Safety

A SAFETY ZONE has been established in front of the school on Lloyd Road. This area between the entrance and exit driveways onto Lloyd Road has been posted, "NO PARKING EXCEPT TO LOAD OR UNLOAD PASSENGERS". The curb is painted yellow as a reminder. This has already helped to facilitate safe and efficient traffic flow. For the safety of all our children, we ask that you obey regulations and not stop in traffic, double park or leave your vehicle unattended. For those with special transportation needs, the Police Department will be happy to assist with appropriate arrangements with the School.

Suggestions to help reduce the possibility of accidents/injuries

  • Be patient and drive very carefully, especially through Safety Zone.
  • Do not block crosswalk where School Guard is on post.
  • Do not attempt to pull into small space at 45 angle that requires backing out into traffic.
  • Load your children into the rear seat on the curbside, buckle them up and control their entry and exit from your vehicle.
  • Instruct your child to stand and wait at a predetermined location, especially during inclement weather.
  • If you can not find a safe location to load and unload your children, drive further south on Lloyd Road and park.

BE SURE YOUR CHILD KNOWS THE CAR & DRIVER WHOM YOU MAY SEND TO PICK THEM UP! Any doubts, they should return to the School. If a possible problem appears to exist, call the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department at 201- 652-1700
