Emergency Planning

The Local Emergency Management Council is and has been pro-active in preparing for emergency situations, e.g. floods, hurricanes, hazardous materials, severe snowstorms, transportation accidents or terrorism.

Ho-Ho-Kus has a town-wide emergency system in place that will call every residence with a listed phone number. If your phone number is unlisted, you must supply your phone number in order to be notified. To register an unlisted phone number, call the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department at 201-652-1700.

As good as federal, state and local governments and organizations are at planning for emergencies and for keeping people safe, they CANNOT do it alone. Residents within the community MUST PLAN AHEAD and make their own personal emergency action plans so that they know what to do and how to do it whether the emergency is hurricane, fire or even a terrorist attack. It is important to PLAN AHEAD for emergencies.
